There is a reason Layer Seven Security is the #1 cybersecurity vendor for SAP.
See how we stack up with SAP Enterprise Threat Detection.

THREAT DETECTION PATTERNS
The Cybersecurity Extension for SAP (CES) from Layer Seven Security provides 6X the coverage of SAP ETD. ETD provides approximately 200 patterns for detecting and alerting for indicators of compromise in SAP logs. The cloud edition of ETD includes around 150 patterns. In comparison, CES provides 1200 attack detection patterns for SAP systems.OS & DB MONITORING
ETD includes patterns for SAP HANA. However, it does not provide coverage for other databases. CES performs full-stack monitoring including database and host layers. CES includes patterns for not only SAP HANA but also SAP ASE, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. It also monitors operating system logs for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), and Microsoft Server.DEPLOYMENT
SAP ETD requires a licensed HANA database with higher operational costs than conventional databases such as SAP ASE. The installation also requires additional servers. The Cybersecurity Extension for SAP does not require SAP HANA and can operate with conventional databases, leading to lower infrastructure costs. It is deployed as an addon for SAP systems and therefore does not require additional servers.MAINTENANCE
SAP ETD requires open-source tools such as Apache Kafka and OpenJDK. The tools must be maintained by customers for security vulnerabilities. ETD updates often have dependencies on OS and HANA upgrades. The Cybersecurity Extension for SAP does not require open-source tools to support threat detection and maintenance does not require OS and DB updates.USER-EXPERIENCE
SAP ETD provides a complex user experience for technical users and requires extensive training. The Cybersecurity Extension for SAP provides a more initiative, user-friendly interface for non-technical users, enabling faster onboarding and incident response for security alerts.SIEM INTEGRATION
SAP ETD does not support integration with all SIEM solutions. In comparison, CES can be integrated with any SIEM solution that supports log file ingestion. This includes Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, and LogRhythm.LICENSING COSTS
SAP ETD is licensed based on based on blocks of monitored users. Therefore, the cost can be prohibitive for organizations with mid to high user volumes. The Cybersecurity Extension for SAP is licensed based on number of productive SAP systems, regardless of the user count. This leads to dramatically lower licensing costs. One solution for all your SAP cybersecurity needs
